CERAKOTE
Cerakote finds applications in diverse fields, including space, aerospace, 3D printing, archery, electronics, fishing, fitness equipment, and firearms, among others. It outperforms various coatings, such as anodizing, bluing, high-temperature powder, nitride, corrosion, PVD, Teflon, and Xylan. Cerakote holds the global leadership in thin-film ceramic polymer coating and can be applied to ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, polymers, composites, and more.
Unlike multi-layer paint and powder coating systems, Cerakote is a single-layer coat that provides ultralight weight coverage and protection. It is applied at 0.25 – 2.0 mils, allowing for efficient coverage. Cerakote is resistant to hydraulic fluids, fuels, solvents, acids, de-icing products, commercial-strength disinfectants, and more. It is UV-stable, protecting substrates from oxidation and degradation. Cerakote withstands impact, scratches, and gouging better than other coatings.
High-temperature coatings and corrosion protection are among Cerakote’s advantages. It can withstand temperatures up to 2000 degrees without spalling, cracking, or flaking. Cerakote also offers coatings that provide thermal barrier and heat dissipation. It serves as a viable alternative to plating and replaces anodizing and nickel plating.
Cerakote complies with VOC regulations in all 50 states and is REACH/RoHS compliant. Additionally, it passes ASTM E595-15.
In the space and aerospace industry, Cerakote is currently used for aircraft interiors and propulsion systems. It meets and exceeds Boeing and Federal standards for flammability protection. Cerakote also exhibits remarkable resistance to thermal shock, preventing cracking, flaking, degradation, and color loss. This is a significant advancement in protecting aircraft, space, and aerospace components. Cerakote’s LR Black series is particularly suitable for this application, complementing the proven C-series Cerakote. LR Black is UV-stable, low-reflective, and light-absorbing. It also resists atomic oxygen and complies with ASTM E595-15.
